What is Contract Eagle?

It is a smart contract database that keeps an eye on your contracts, sending you reminder emails to inform you when key contract milestones are coming up. It captures contract documents and metadata, and creates reports, to help streamline your administration and contract management processes. Are the prices listed a one-time fee, or is it a pay-as-you-go service?

The pricing is a one-time fee which buys you a perpetual licence to use the Contract Eagle software.

Where is the software installed?

Contract Eagle is installed on your own systems so that your sensitive contract details are kept within the secure confines of your own organisation.

How easy is it to install?

Contract Eagle recommends using a technical support person to help you perform the installation.

This system requries setup of a web server, database and connection to an email server. The step-by-step installer has automated most of the process and provides elaborate instructions for the parts which cannot be automated. Thus, it is realistic for a confident lay-person to install this system.

Can I get support during my trial period?

Yes. You are entitled to FREE SUPPORT during your trial period. Please contact us via our Request Direct Support page.

How can I get help with installation?

As you install Contract Eagle during your trial period we are happy to respond to any questions or issues that you raise. Please contact us via our request direct support page.

Do you offer a maintenance and support package?

Yes, we call it "Direct Support Services".

Our direct support services package allows you to receive software updates for 12 months and hourly support credits, which you can use for up to 2 years.

The support credits are available in 4 or 20 hour bundles and are purchased via our Buy Now page.

What versions of Microsoft Windows are required?

What versions of Microsoft SQL Server are required?

Contract Eagle supports all editions of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008.

Yes, this includes the free Express editions.

Are any other databases supported?

Yes, Contract Eagle will also run on a Microsoft Jet (ie. Microsoft Access) database. However, Microsoft SQL Server is the recommended database.

The Microsoft Jet option has been provided for the sole purpose of making the installation process achievable for small businesses that do not have technical support staff available to install Microsoft SQL Server for them.

The Microsoft Jet option is not supported for 64bit operating systems.

Can I upgrade my licence?

Yes. You may upgrade your licence at any time.

Is there any additional fee for upgrading my licence?

No. You only need to pay the difference in price between your previous licence and your new licence.

Am I entitled to any free upgrades?

Yes. For the 6 month period following your licence purchase you may download and install any new releases of Contract Eagle for no additional charge.

Purchasing direct support services will grant you the right to download and install the software for 12 months.

What types of contracts does it support?

There is no restriction to the types of contracts you can manage within Contract Eagle. You decide what your contract types will be and you decide what user-defined fields to apply to each of them.

Examples of contract types you might define within Contract Eagle might include:
...Sell side contracts with your customers
...Buy side contracts with your suppliers
...Opex contracts, such as facilities and technology
...Resource contracts such as individual employment contracts
...Licensing and distribution
...Partnership & joint ventures etc

How many people can use the software?

Under the Enterprise licence there is no limit to the number of users. You are allowed any number of users from up to 5 sites. Any additional sites will require an extra licence.

All other licences allow you to nominate individuals, up to the number allowed by your licence.

How many contracts may I load?

There is no limit. Contract Eagle has been proven to work successfully with tens, hundreds, and thousands of contracts.

Is the trial version the same as the purchased version?

The software is the same. When you purchase you will not need to reinstall the software or change your database. Upon purchasing you receive a perpetual licence key which you can copy & paste into the Contract Eagle Setup Assistant. Thus, you can enter "live" data under your trial licence and retain the information once you have purchased.
